The Next Revival: Word & Spirit

Revival in America’s Past

America has known the power of revival. From the fields of the Great Awakenings, where men like Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield thundered the Word of God, to the Azusa Street outpouring where the Holy Spirit swept through Los Angeles, to the Charismatic renewal that spread like wildfire across denominational lines, we have seen glimpses of heaven touching earth.

But let’s be honest—many of these movements carried an imbalance. Some were marked by Spirit-filled fire, yet lacked the anchor of the Word. Others were built on the solid foundation of Scripture, yet lacked the Spirit’s breath. The result was either wildfire with no direction, or dry religion with no power.

A Coming Move of Word and Spirit

But the next revival—the one God is stirring in this generation—will not be one or the other. It will be Word and Spirit, walking hand in hand.

Jesus declared that true worshipers must worship the Father “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). Not Spirit or truth. Not one at the expense of the other. Spirit and truth—together. The Spirit without the Word leads to chaos. The Word without the Spirit leads to deadness. But when the two come together, the church burns with a holy fire that cannot be extinguished.

This is the revival I see coming—a revival where the Word is preached with uncompromising boldness, and the Spirit confirms the Word with signs, wonders, and transformed lives.

Lives Transformed, Not Just Stirred

This will not be a revival that fades when the music stops or the crowds go home. This will not be about goosebumps in a service or manifestations that make for good stories. No—this will be about lasting transformation.

  • Chains of addiction will be broken once and for all.
  • Marriages will be healed and restored.
  • Young men and women will rise up bold in the Word and ablaze with the Spirit.
  • Entire communities will shift as righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost take root.

Make no mistake: This revival will leave fruit that remains. It won't just fill churches with people; it will fill cities with the glory of God.

The Fire That Will Not Go Out

The prophet Jeremiah said the Word of God was like fire shut up in his bones (Jeremiah 20:9). On the day of Pentecost, tongues of fire rested upon the disciples as the Spirit was poured out (Acts 2:3). Word and Spirit—fire shut up within and fire resting upon. That same flame is coming to burn in America again.

It won't be built on hype. It won't bow to culture. It won't be man-made or man-sustained. It'll be the eternal Word of God, carried forth by the unstoppable wind of the Spirit. Get ready.

Prepare the Altars

The Lord is raising up a people who will not compromise the Word and will not quench the Spirit. Churches that honor both will see holy fire fall. Leaders who stand on the truth and remain open to the Spirit will be used to usher in this move of God.

The next revival is not just near—it has already begun to stir. The question is: are we ready?

Prepare the altars. Dig deep into the Word. Open wide to the Spirit. For when the Word & Spirit revival hits...it won't just shake the church—it will transform the nation.

This is the revival America is waiting for. And this is the revival that is coming.
